Siucra Perpetual Trophy for Cakes of Distinction at Cork Sugarcraft Competition
Cobh based cake designer, Melissa Pasley, was awarded Siucra Perpetual Trophy for her uniquely designed cake. The award was made at the Cork Sugarcraft Assocation’s National Competition which was held at the Radisson SAS Hotel and Spa, Little Island this weekend.
The entire cake was designed to represent a Christmas tree and decorated entirely from Royal Icing. The base of the tree was composed of a cake surrounded by panels of icing. The tree itself was made from twelve extremely delicate panels that incorporated a snowflake design.
Competition entries were judged by British Sugarcraft Judges to international standards. Melissa’s cake was awarded Silver and she received the Suicra Trophy for achieving the highest mark in the Open Royal Icing Class.
