November 2009 - Cakes of Distinction awarded Bronze Medal at Cake International 2009 in Birmingham

Melissa Pasley was awarded awarded a Bronze Medal for a creative centerpiece based on the Mad Hatters Tea Party from Alice In Wonderland at Cake International 2009, held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK.

The centerpiece of figurines was modelled entirely by hand using sugarpaste featured Alice, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare and the Cheshire Cat. In addition to the bronze medal, it was also awarded third place overall in the Figurine category at the competition.

This is the tenth award for sugarcraft achieved by Melissa and it is the first time entering a piece in the Figurine category.
